My father is 45 and turns 46 June 21 He has been smoking since he graduated from university at the age of 25, turning 26. So he smokes about 20 years. He left for almost a year when we moved to America, but he did it again. So about 19 3 / 4 years he has been smoking. He left today to 45 years and has not smoked for almost a month now. What is the chance of him even lung cancer? Best answer:

The lungs begin to heal within a few days of quitting. Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer, but not the only cause. It can be hereditary, chemical pollutants and several other environmental factors. Give him a pat on the back to stop smoking it can only lower his risk.
