Q&A: Do you know anyone who had bladder cancer and had to have a Cystectomy?

Question by ~Joy~: Do you know anyone who had bladder cancer and had to have a Cystectomy?
A Cystectomy is where the bladder is removed and part of the intestines is used to construct a new bladder. If you know someone who has had it done, please tell me how the surgery went and how long they took to recover. Thank you.

As a nurse I have worked with patients with bladder cancer. I only took care of them while in the hospital so I can’t tell you about the after care. Sorry. The least amount of hospital time I have seen post surgery was 8 days. The longest I have seen was 28 days.
